This cover was dedicated to hip hop’s greatest rappers at the time including Methon Man, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, Master P, Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, and Foxy Brown. In my opinion the 90′s consisted of THE BEST Ramp;B and hip hop artists and music hands down!!br /br /I remember having blank tapes and recording songs that used to come on the radio so I would have them on hand whenever I needed. Music just isn’t the same to me anymore. Back then when all these artists were out they were so talented and well rounded that I never thought they would be off the scene. I look back and wonder where all the real talent went. Of course there are still some past greats doing their thing like Jay-Z and of course Diddy (idk what his talent is but he makes hot music lol), but what about all these other past artists who just disappeared? br /a name=’more’/abr /I really think music is becoming more and more “pop-ish”. Look at Nicki Minaj, she is just about the only female rapper out there making huge numbers… But you can’t tell me she isn’t a pop artist. Her songs are very gimmicky and animated like pop music. And I’m not throwing shade at Nicki in any way, I even bought her album. I’m just saying you don’t really hear music these days with substance to the lyrics. And that’s not just with her, other rappers as well. Take Rick Ross for example. All he raps about is living the lavish life, cars, drugs, money, and hoes. Ok… every other artist raps about the same (Gucci, Wacka, etc). Back then each rapper had his/her own style and story. They didn’t all rap about the same thing and I think that’s why the industry was so successful back then. Which leads me to wonder, what happened? I watched a video on youtube a couple of weeks ago of a speech given by Lauryn Hill in 1998 where she saidnbsp;that artists continue to speak about the same things because they are so worried about falling off, they dont give themselves enough time to step down and experience new things. Therefore, their raps remain the same. I definitely agree.br /br /I don’t know where hip hop went wrong, but I need it back. I need music that I can relate to. Not music that I like just because the beat is hot, or because of sick punch lines, or because they’re talking about all the things I WISH I had (long money, fast cars, etc). I don’t want to keep hearing about being the baddest b*tch, or the chick that makes him keep coming back, or the chick that can take your man. I want MY hip hop back, the one that teaches lessons in life (Lauryn Hill), or just the good old feel good music from back then! How do you feel about hip hop today compared to what it was then?? Do you think our music is dying? Am I the only person who really enjoyed this episode of The Game? I felt like it involved way more humor than the past two… I LOL’d on more than one occasion! Let me start off by saying I am SO HAPPY Jazz is back!! Omg that’s my girl! Her and Javon are hilarious! I also really like Ericka from the Sunbeams and her million and ten accessories lol. The little characters help make the show to me!/divdiv style=”text-align: left;”br //divdiv style=”text-align: left;”/diva name=’more’/abr /div style=”text-align: left;”Shout out to TT for putting Malik in his place! You’d have to be Stevie Wonder to not see that coming. Sadly, Malik has obviously been full of himself from day one and isn’t coping very well with not being the star player any more. Notice how he kept taking TT as a joke even after TT gave him his money back? Like seriously, how can you call this dude’s phone and brag about smashing his girl?? #icantdeal… Also, where is he getting the idea that everyone around him is using him? TT has been riding with him since forever and never asked for anything in return. Malik’s attitude was horrible, but his little assistance had me weak! She was a basic at its finest lmao. And did anybody pay attention to when he left his little stripper room and she just kept dancing?? Weak! LOL/divdiv style=”text-align: left;”br //divdiv style=”text-align: left;”Melanie and the Sunbeams organized a seminar for teenage girls to help inspire them. When Jazz volunteered to help, Mel shunned her because of her past “tendencies”. I was not surprised at all by Melanie judging Jazz for her past. Sometimes I think Melanie is very insecure, I believe she focuses so much on trying to be perfect that she forgets about her own past mistakes. I was glad Jazz put her in her place because Melanie really needed to hear that. Jazz keeps it “one hunned” and I love it! lol… I’m glad Melanie put aside her judgmental ways and actually gave Jazz a chance.. Shoot can I be a Sunbeam so I can get me some booty popping lessons LOL! /divdiv style=”text-align: left;”br //divdiv style=”text-align: left;”At the very end of the episode, Malik El Debarge Wright (full name needed for effects lol) leaves his home drunk to go find TT. Now I’m trying to figure out what he intended to do when he actually saw TT, but I guess we’ll never know. THE Malik El Debarge Wright ended up getting pulled over, I’m assuming for speeding, and the officer noticed him stumbling. Malik wouldn’t listen to the officer and get back in his truck, instead he decides to push the officer for trying to give him a breathalyzer. This results in Mr I Can’t Be Touched getting arrested #pow! Malik used to be one of my favorites but now he’s just SORRY! I wonder if this will lead to him being suspended from the Sabers, or permanently dismissed. I know one thing if he doesn’t get his act together asap, he’s gonna go downhill from here! SN: What an epic mug shot hehe :) /divdiv style=”text-align: left;”br //divdiv style=”text-align: left;”All in all I was VERY pleased with this week’s episode! From Jazz’s ghetto talking and booty popping to Javon’s foolishness at the pool over Malik’s, it kept me entertained. I will be tuned in again next week! Just remember even if you don’t care for the changes made on the show, it is the HIGHEST VIEWED TV SITCOM in history! Come on people, we really don’t have much to choose from on tv these days other than reality shows. Show support to our black community by tuning in every week! It’s about that time for us to get rid of the layers and bring out the spring clothes! From what I’ve collected thus far, this season will be full of bold colors, white, bold patterns, and none other than animal print! /divdiv align=”left”br //divdiv align=”left”Animal print is one of the trends that seems to never go away, and I LOVE it! This fashion statement can be worn in many ways, but try not to over do it. I would suggest investing in some nice animal print shoes or a purse, that way you can wear just about anything with the piece. You could also wear an animal print top, but if you choose to do this I wouldn’t wear it with the animal print accessories. To be extra different, try finding a pair of animal print tights. In this case, less is more.nbsp;I think this trend is best worn with nude and and white hues, or browns and blacks. /divdiv align=”left”br //divdiv align=”left”I don’t think this style will be going anywhere for a long time, so go for it and see what you can come up with! Thank God for Derwin being a real man and for stepping up and telling her they were in it together. I appreciate him for wanting her to go to church with him. Should he demand it? No, but if she wants this marriage to work she’ll go. Should he have told her to never mention his ratchet baby mama or his son DJ? No, that’s a topic that’s going to be unavoidable for the next 18 years and hopefully he’ll realize that sooner than later. The icing on the cake for me was when he took her bag off her shoulder and sat it down as if saying “You not going anywhere, you staying here with me” #epic. Derwin got me waiting on that one man that stops me when I leave and who’ll do anything to keep me!! LOL (but that’s a whole other post that can go for days)../divdiv class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: left;”br //divdiv class=”separator” style=”clear: both; text-align: left;”Bottom line, I think this episode made the characters a little more like themselves and I really enjoyed that. I’ve seen people on facebook, twitter, and other blogs giving this show HELL! We waited two years for this comeback, signed online petitions, and griped and complained about having to watch reruns every day. Now that it’s here half of us still aren’t satisfied. Please understand that this show was cancelled and basically GONE for two whole years. It has since been moved to a new location (the cause of the scene differences) and has been moved to a new network. All I’m saying is, if you worked this hard to get your favorite show back why would you give up on it after two episodes? At least support it every week so it gets the proper amount of viewers to continue for more seasons. But being the person that I am, I notice and give meaning to every little thing lol.. With that being said, there was this guy that came up and asked me for my number. Mind you, I had seen him numerous times with his girlfriend, so I told him just that.nbsp;You know “Sorrynbsp;but I see you with your girlfriend all the time and I don’t get down like that”. So he laughed it off and said his girlfriend had nothing to do with me and he just wanted to take menbsp;out and buy me nice things.. PAUSEbr /br /Now this scenario can go two ways, I can either accept and allow this man to take menbsp;out knowing I could never have all of him because henbsp;is already obligated to someone.. OR I can take the classy route and decline. So that’s what I did. I let him know I don’t condone cheating, and I won’t play a part in it. Now most of you know the typical male response goesnbsp;something like “oh you wasn’t all that anyway” lls!nbsp;However, his response threw me for a loop.. He said “Yo that’s what’s up, I like you..” And that made me put some things into perspective: Guys have a certain type of respect for women with class and high standards.br /a name=’more’/abr /Think about this, if I had told him yes and allowed him to take me out, that’s not only saying screw your girlfriend it’s showing that I have no respect for his relationship. Furthermore I have no standards. But because I turned him down, he realized that money and fine dining can’t win me over. It takes more than that to capturenbsp;MY heart. Therefore he could possibly see me as above all the rest, untouchable maybe. Lots of times a woman is classy on the outside, but is ready to get down and dirty at the drop of a dime. I promise ya’ll guys see right through these women #trust. br /br /Remember that men who have money give it away easily, and just because a man offers you money it doesn’t neccesarily mean he’s going to wife you up. There’s plenty more where that come from. Do you honestly think he would be offering to spend money on me AND his girlfriend if he didn’t have enough to do so? Ehh I think not. All I’m saying is, don’t just be a pretty face or nice body sleeping with any and everybody, doing things for money, or just talking to guys who will never be yournbsp;boyfriend just because.
