[Fashion Files] Crazy for Camo

Camo is taking the world by storm and I’m not mad one bit! I love it!! Camo print has been around for decades but just recently caught on in the fashion world as an actual trend. Some people have been wearing it for ages, specifically men, but over the past few months it has really picked up as a staple item of style. Nowadays all of our favorite celebs are rocking it, but Rihanna wears it best to me! Her style game is just crazy to me so she can do no wrong in fashion.

Since I personally feel that everyone should have at least one camo print item in their closets, I’ve searched online and made a gallery of some hot camo pieces that I thought were dope. [May Contest] American Flag & Camo

What’s up! It’s that time again for our monthly contest and since Memorial Day is this month, the contest for May is centered around American flag print and camo. These are two of my favorite prints and I think they go very well together. I just bought a pair of camo boots and just got a pair of American flag tights from Trixi’s Closet as well. I can’t wait to wear them together!

For this month’s contest, send in a pic of yourself in either camo or American flag print (you can do both!) to thebosschicfiles@gmail.com by May 15th. I will post the contestants a few days later and give everyone until Memorial Day to vote! The winner will get a gift from Trixi’s Closet and of course our readers will vote for the winner. [Fashion Files] The Chic Tomboy Trend

What’s up bosses and boss chics? One of my favorite trends out right now is the tomboy chic look that has been seen ALL over the place from the likes of Rihanna, Ciara, Rita Ora, Teyana Taylor etc. I love this look! It’s funny because I didn’t get into this look until I couldn’t wear heels and found myself wearing lots of military styled boots and big sweatshirts. I love how versatile this style is because even though it’s considered a trend there are a million ways to still make it your own.

Within this set trend, there are a number of different items that are hot at the moment and I thought I’d share those with you. First of all, tracker sweatpants are definitely in at the moment and I personally love them. Crewneck sweatshirts, jersey cotton skirts, graphic crop tops, faux leather pants, beanies, snap backs, and wedge sneakers all fall under this trend as well which all appeal to my personal taste. It seems like more and more females are on IG thugging it out stylishly nowadays than there were previously, don’t you agree?

Good morning bosses and boss chics! It looks like we have a winner for our Emerald Green contest! [Boss Chic Interview] A Chat with Jazmyn

What’s up team?? I’m so excited to reveal to you all my new brilliant, creative, & FLY assistant Jazmyn! I had been following Jazmyn for quite some time on twitter and IG and immediately fell in love with her sense of style and her individuality. You know I’m all about being different, standing out, and doing your own thing so of course Jazmyn naturally caught my eye. Well come to find out, like myself Jazmyn is an Aquarius to the T which explains why we have so much in common and both follow the beat of our own drums.

Then awhile later Jazmyn released a few spoken word poems that made me love her even more. I’ve always been interested in the arts and wanted to dabble in poetry myself, but it’s just not something that works for me lol. However, Jazmyn has IT. Whatever IT is can be found in her. There’s just no other way to put it. Every time I hear one of her poems I’m captivated from beginning to end, and she leaves me in awe. I seriously admire anyone with an artistic talent, well GIFT is better suited I believe.

I sat down with Jazmyn last week and got in her head a little about what makes her who she is, what influenced her poetry, and what she wants in life. Check out excerpts from our conversation below as well as a gallery of some of Jazmyn’s different looks (one of the many reasons I think she’s so dope!). Hope you enjoy, we had fun in the process :)

[Boss Chic Contest] Emerald Green

What’s up bosses and boss chics! Happy Hump Day! As you all know, we started the contest for March at the beginning of the month centered around the color emerald green. The pictures were due this past Sunday and this time we have two contestants. Their looks are very different but I love them both! Brittney opted for a more casual/chic look with faux leather pants and top with over the knee flat boots. Our other contestant, Latrice, is rocking a scooped back, sequined dress in emerald green with a pair of black Louboutins (I ain’t mad!)

I can tell that both of these ladies have style and class and I would definitely rock both of their looks! What's In My Bag?

I was reading another blog that I follow and came across this unique idea and had to share! It’s like one of those chain blogs where you’re supposed to pass it along, showing what’s in your purse. First of all I have been carrying the same BCBG bag for like three years straight now. This bag was given to me and I love it so much I can’t put it down. I mean the inside stitching in the bottom is completely gone and the whole nine, it’s tragic smh. I definitely need to upgrade lol! #dontjudgeme

[Trend Alert!] The “M” Split

The Angelina Jolie split has gone to the next level with this double split trend that has been spotted all over the scene these past few months. I think the trend is well suited for a glamorous look as seen on all ladies in the above pic. I’m not sure I would recommend this trend for every day wear, considering that it is a little more revealing than others.

Personally, I do like the “M” split and would wear it if I were attending a special event that called for a long dress. I checked online and found a few skirts that play up to this look from ASOS and NastyGal.com which you can find after the break! Are you feeling this trend?
